3 Natural and Easy Ways To Relieve Insomnia Starting Tonight

If you are one of the millions of people that are suffering from insomnia, then you should know that there are some things you can do to make it less of a problem. While many turn to prescription medications, they don’t always work and they can have a big impact on your health and your pocketbook. Not to worry, there are other ways to combat sleeplessness and we will look at some of the best ones in this article.

There are many causes of insomnia, with hormonal imbalance and stress being two of the biggest culprits. While the items below will help in a lot of cases, your case may be more severe. If so, then see your doctor as a prescription may be your best alternative. But, before you go that route, try these things first:

1. Loosen up – Okay, I’ll be the first to admit that this is easier said than done, but it is the first step to beating insomnia. We all have things to worry about, but you have to find a way to let those things go before bedtime. In fact, by purposely forgetting them before retiring for the evening, you may actually solve those problems while you sleep. However, if you go to bed with the intention of solving a hard problem, then your subconscious will work differently by trying to keep you awake to solve. It all sounds counter-intuitive, but you have the best chance of solving your problems by not worrying about them before bed. At the same time, it’s vital that you don’t worry about how much sleep you will or won’t get. Focusing on your insomnia is the surest way to have insomnia. The key is to do things to help you unwind, to help you shift from the cares of the day to preparing to sleep.

2. Stay healthy – Exercising too close to bedtime will only serve to make it harder to fall asleep. However, if you exercise several hours earlier, your body will be more ready to sleep. Eating well is important to your overall health, and this extends to how well sleep. The healthier you are, the better you will sleep. Also, sleeping well is part of being healthy, so you will see a difference if you maintain a healthy lifestyle.

3. Learn relaxation techniques – There are many different techniques designed to help people relax and sleep better. You can purchase audio programs that use a form of guided meditation to help you drift off into a deep and restorative sleep. You can also try the following technique on your own: As you lie in bed start at your toes and release all of the energy from them, letting them melt right into your mattress. Then move up to your feet, ankles, calves, knees, and all the way up to the top of your head. As you do this, you will be letting go of the tension you have built up over the course of your day and drifting off to sleep before you know it.

4.  All of my family has had challenges with insomnia and waking up during the night.  We started using an essential oil diffuser with To Be at Peace Youngevity Essential Oils for the kids, and for a stronger strength for the mommy and daddy – Good Night Essential Oil.  I have found that when I forget, it really effects not only getting to sleep, but how well I sleep.

Choosing a Quality Essential Oil

An important thing to keep in mind when choosing an oil is the quality of the essential oil.

Only pure oils can bring forth the preferred effects on your body. Sadly most health food stores and natural cosmetic stores carry essential oil goods that have been expanded with vegetable oil or other oils called “extenders”, produced in a lab, or created from extract with similar scents. In the same way, adulterated perfume oils are also extensively available for purchase.

Synthetic or artificial oils are produced to allow the industry to churn out perfumes and cosmetics cheaply. These oils can’t be used to make natural body care, facial care, etc. In my opinion, these oils also do not have the same effect on your body as a pure essential oil does. There are a few ways you can test whether or not the oil is pure.

Testing Quality of Oil

  • Put 1-2 drops on your fingertips and rub them together. If the oil is greasy it more than likely has a vegetable oil added to stretch it.
  • Put a drop of oil on a piece of paper and wait for it to evaporate. If it leaves a grease spot then it has a vegetable oil added.
  • Smell the essential oil. If it has an alcohol smell to it then it has been altered.
  • Look at the price. Adulterated oils will be much cheaper than pure oil.  You will also find brands where all the oils are about the same price.  Trust me a frankincense  essential oil is worth a lot more than a lavender essential oil

Other things to check.  See if you can find out how the essential oils are tested.  For some, they will say “tested in house”.  Others will list different organizations/laboratories that their oils are tested at.  Like anything, the more research the better.

It’s important to make sure the oils you have chosen to use are pure essential oils. Using adulterated oils can be toxic to your body. How $500 can turn into $20,000 with a Direct Sales Business?

Would you like to turn a $500 investment into $20,000+?

Well, I don’t know anyone who wouldn’t.  Here is the great thing with working for yourself in “social selling”.  Did you know that the average North American is only $500 a month away from having to declare bankruptcy? That so many people live right on that edge, if their monthly income was reduced by $500, they would over a short period of time have to sell off assets (cars, homes) and drastically reduce their lifestyle.

So, I get a lot of people asking me how I can do it the other way.  Let’s say you invested $500USD  in yourself.  In products that you believed in.  And you started using those products and loving them.  Then you start recommending those products to your friends and family.  They then would either chose to use the products, and some of them would also decide to invest in themselves.  Over the course of a short period of consecutive sharing, you would build up a monthly income of $500+ additional each month (with about 5-8 hours of work a week). And best part, it will continue to grow, if you continue sharing the amazing products.

Now, what are you going to do with that $500 – the first month, maybe you buy yourself something awesome, something that you have been wanting for a long time.  Now, this is where the hard part comes.  The SECOND month that you make that money, you need to start paying down your debt.

The average mortgage in North America is around $200,000.  For the example below, I have used a 3% interest rate, and a 25 year amortization period.  By taking HALF of your new found $500 a month – you are saving yourself $25,000+ on your mortgage and paying that 25 year mortgage off in 18 years instead of 25.  This has a number of amazing factors.  1.  You pay a lot less interest.  And this is at a lower interest rate, eventually our interest rates will start to rise, so saving yourself money now will have a much larger impact.  2. If you choose to sell your house, you will have more equity in the home to purchase something else.  And 3.  If a disaster strikes, you have more equity in your home to borrow against later.
